There can be nothing more frustrating for a photographer than visiting a stunning location only to be disappointed by the images that you have made. This is even more true when you have invested in a trip overseas to your dream destination overseas. Our aim for our Overseas Tours is not only to take you to wonderful locations but also to ensure that you realise your vision. Light & Land ensures this by providing high quality tuition from enthusiastic and knowledgeable leaders. A good teacher should be able to explain, provoke, entertain and above all inspire! Our intention at Light & Land is to satisfy all these demands for you. Whilst technical issues are addressed when they arise, the emphasis is upon developing your vision as Group sizes photographers and realising your creative potential.

Light & Land research our tours in depth so that we take you to the best locations at the best time of day and the best time of year. Our leaders know the locations they take you to and know how to enable you make the best of them - you won’t be left to wander aimlessly!

Information at your fingertips...

Light & Land want to ensure that you have all the information you need to get the most out of your tour. Comprehensive tour notes are provided prior to travel with details such as climate, sunrise sunset times, locations to be visited and notes on cameras and filtration. We have also developed the Footprint system for grading the exercise levels on our tours. The symbols, one footprint through to three, appear alongside each tour description on the website to let you know how physically demanding the tour will be. Where flights are included in the cost they are arranged through ATOL bonded agents to protect your money and in compliance with CAA regulations.

Explorer tours...

You will also see the Explorer symbol alongside some of our tours. These tours build on the experience we’ve gained in the last few years, taking you to some of the world’s most spectacular destinations. The emphasis on these trips is to make the landscape and the photography our absolute priority. To ensure we capture the best light, we shoot at dawn and dusk every day, weather permitting, resting in the middle of the day as appropriate. Because the best locations are sometimes far from the road, there is a higher level of physical exertion than on our classic tours.

Group size...

We structure our Overseas Tours around groups of 10-14 clients in order to ensure that everyone receives the attention they deserve. The Overseas Tours range in length from 7 days to three weeks. All tours are costed on a minimum number of participants but we may, on occasion, offer you the opportunity for a tour to proceed with a smaller size group. There would, in these cases, be a surcharge.
