UK Tours

Attention to detail...

Light & Land pay the same attention to detail on our UK Tours as we do on our Overseas Tours. You might think of these tours as an entry-level offering but they are so much more than that! Photographers of all abilities are welcome on both our UK and Overseas Tours – from absolute beginner to semi-pro. Our experienced leaders tailor their tuition to meet your individual level of knowledge so you are bound to come away from a UK tour with new insights and techniques whatever your level of expertise.

The aim of all our tours is to help you grow as a photographer – we won’t just take you to a location and leave you to your own devices. It is the passing on of our leader’s photographic knowledge and skills that makes people return again and again on Light & Land tours. And please don’t be fooled into thinking that these Tours are dry and dusty exercises in acquiring knowledge, they are also great fun. We never forget that you are choosing to travel with us as a break from your normal routine.

Inspiring leaders...

We are very aware that just because someone is a good photographer doesn’t mean that they will make a great educator. We always choose enthusiastic and inspiring leaders who will go out of their way to make sure that your experience on a Light & Land tour is an enjoyable one.

Catering for all abilities...

Many of our clients choose to take part in our UK Tours before progressing to our Overseas Tours as a way to find out what Light & Land is all about. A big bonus for many of our clients who travel with us is the opportunity to concentrate entirely on your photography without having to worry that those around you want to do something else.

A common worry amongst photographers beforehand is, “will the tour be full of people who are much more skilled than me and make me feel inadequate?” The short answer is no! Our clients are united by a common passion and are always willing to pass on their skills and knowledge to beginners. In fact a big part of the enjoyment of being on a Light & Land tour is the experience of spending time in the company of like-minded people.

Group size...

We structure our regular UK Tours around small groups of 8 clients with one leader (or up to 12 with two) to ensure that everyone receives the attention they deserve. The UK Tours vary in length from 3 days to a week.

Start & finish...

The tours and workshops normally start around 6pm with an introductory talk and discussion about each participants needs and aims - an essential aspect of ensuring that every participant gets as much as possible from the course. If conditions are right the tour will finish with the last light on the last day; we don't want to see good light going to waste. Weather permitting the group will start each day with a dawn shoot. Don't worry though if you're not by nature an early riser. Dawns are optional - you only need worry about the peer pressure as everyone describes the wonderful light over breakfast!

"The leader could not have been more generous with his time, expertise and local knowledge" Sheila W
