Cairngorms in Autumn
Date: 26th - 30th October 2015
Autumn is, for most photographers, the favourite season, and autumn in the Cairngorms is a sight to behold. The hillsides of birch, oak, beech and rowan explode with colour and provide a wonderful palette for the camera, especially when reflected in the lochs and rivers streaming from the hills.
The rugged beauty of the area offers a wealth of opportunity to experiment with some different techniques. The weather in Scotland changes rapidly and a sudden fall off in the quality of the light is the perfect time to try out some ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) or multiple exposures. Such techniques are controllable to a certain degree and experimentation will give you the chance to delight in some of the happy accidents that can occur by moving the camera and combining exposures.
