Padley Gorge, The Peak District - Autumn
Date: 24th October 2015
Autumn, so brief and yet so beautiful. The colours combined with magical light and atmospheric weather conditions often create the most wonderful images for our portfolios. And in the UK there are just a few locations which are so stunning in autumn they have become a “Mecca” for landscapers. One of those is Padley Gorge in the Peak District, and it is here we will base this workshop.
After capturing sunrise on one of the famous gritstone edges and then enjoying a well earned breakfast in Hathersage, we will spend the rest of our time capturing the wonders of Padley Gorge, with its tumbling stream, ancient broadleaved trees, mossy rocks, drystone walls and even the odd millstone. The foliage should be coming to its peak and the compositions, while challenging, are endless. There is good reason why this special place draws photographers from all over the country, especially in the autumn.
