Adobe’s Lightroom is probably the best photographic editor available. It’s modestly priced, easy to use and available as a stand-alone program or part of Adobe’s “Cloud World” for the more connected photographers.
Despite Lightroom’s ease of use, getting started with any new program can be daunting. So why not make it easy by joining us for a day packed full of help and advice. We will help you setup your system and take you through the basics of managing and editing your images. We will get your computer ready for the thousands of pictures you will be loading and editing over the years to come. By the end of the day you should be confidently loading images and performing a wide range of adjustments, helping you make the very best of your images.
You will be provided with a printed manual to scribble on and a memory stick with all the sample images we will be using on the day.
Location & Facilities
The group size is limited to 10 places to ensure plenty of help and support. You will be using your own computer in a spacious room at The Arch London, a hotel just a stone’s throw from Marble Arch in Great Cumberland Place. Tea & coffee are provided. There will be a break for lunch (lunch is not included) where you can choose to work through with your own packed lunch or take advantage of the local facilities.
We aim to cover the following topics during the day but additions and alterations can be agreed by consensus on the day.
• Introduction to Lightroom, how it works and why it’s different from other editors
• Creating a catalogue
• Importing your images
• Organising and finding your files
• Editing, including: Straightening & Cropping, Global adjustments, Local adjustments, Spot removal, Graduated filter and B&W
• Getting your images out of Lightroom
Who Should Attend
This workshop is ideal for beginners or for those who think they are intermediate but have got into bad habits! You will be working on your own images, or sample images if you prefer, in a small group, with plenty of ‘hand holding’ with one of the best teachers in the business.
