Adrian’s main interest in landscape photography stems from years of walking in the mountains of Snowdonia, but he is also fascinated by B&W and modern architecture. He started photographing seriously in 1995, gaining City &Guilds level 2 & 3 followed by an LRPS.
Much of his early work was in B&W and he won a number of national magazine competitions. He used to regularly convert his bathroom into a dark room, but that changed when his daughter arrived in 2000 and he became interested in Photoshop. Adrian is a trained software engineer so he adapted to this new approach quickly, discovering how to replicate his darkroom processes and even taking some digital tricks back into the darkroom. After several years of using a digital SLR exclusively, ironically he now finds himself attracted back to film cameras. However, he thinks the digital darkroom is definitely here to stay!
Since 2002 he has been teaching City & Guilds photography courses such as B&W, Buildings, Landscape and the Introductory modules. Photoshop has played an increasingly central role in all these courses.
