Duncan McEwan has been photographing the Scottish landscape for nearly 40 years, building up an intimate knowledge of good locations as well as a deep understanding of Scottish weather and light. Finding subjects that suit the prevailing light is one of his key guiding principles.
He lectures and judges widely across the UK and has over 20 years experience organising and leading landscape photography workshops and tours In Scotland. As a former teacher he is adept at imparting knowledge and motivating those in his charge. Although a member of Sony’s team of Advocate Photographers, he still occasionally enjoys using film.
Published work includes “Better Landscape Photography” and he is a regular contributor to photographic magazines and Scottish publications including calendars, postcards and tourist literature. Through picture libraries, his work has been published in over 25 countries.
