RICHARD CHILDS

Richard has been in love with the outdoors from a very early age, making his first ascent of Snowdon at the age of four. However, his chosen career as a musician kept him indoors until 1999 when he started to move away from the music business and formed Leading Edge, an outdoor pursuits business, with a colleage from one of the schools that he taught in.

In 2001 he began taking photography much more seriously and since then has not ventured into the hills without a camera. Attending a Large Format workshop in 2004, led by David Ward and Joe Cornish, convinced Richard that this was the future and within four months he and his family had relocated to Oban on the West coast of Scotland where they run a gallery and photographic business.

Richard now supplies landscape imagery to a number of clients including Visit Scotland. His cards and prints are available in galleries and gift shops throughout Scotland.
