For 25 years, Steve's passion has been exploring the Snowdonia National Park. Early on his camera was merely a means of recording days out, but, an increasing affinity with the landscape, combined with his improving photographic skills, lead him to concentrate his abilities on landscape photography. In 2006, he became an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society with a portfolio of Snowdonia landscapes.
In 1996, due to his growing interest in the landscape and culture of the Snowdonia National Park, he joined the Snowdonia Society, a charitable trust which campaigns on issues concerning the area. Steve is now a regular contributor to the society's magazine, where his landscape images have generated much interest and admiration. In partnership with the Snowdonia Society, he has recently released a book "Private Views of Snowdonia", the first edition of which sold out in 12 weeks.
The book is an evocative insight into the Snowdonia National Park, as seen through the eyes of local people. Steve has captured the special, and often intimate, places in the lives of 30 people who live and work within the National Park. Their evocative essays, combined with Steve’s stunning images, imbue the book with a genuine flavour of the community, and the result offers an experience of Snowdonia to remember.
Steve is a contributing photographer to both the Photo Library of Wales and the British Tourist Authority library. He is a regular contributor to the national photographic magazines, and his work also appears in many Welsh interest publications.
