'Thinking Photography’ with Charlie Waite

Ten guest participation

Join Charlie Waite for a rare opportunity to unravel some 30 of his landscape photographs over five one hour online sessions.

Share with Charlie the many elements that go into a photograph and why Charlie sees the Landscape Photograph as a ‘production'.

Enjoy discussing with Charlie your thoughts about his enthusiasm for thinking deeply about what goes into a landscape photograph.

What does the great Ansel Adams sentence of 'Recognition and Pre-visualisation' mean?

Know when to turn away from a landscape photograph that you thought would ‘work’ but realised that it would not.

What criteria of judgement do you call upon to make that decision?

Work with Charlie on all elements of a landscape photograph: Balance, relationships, design, geometry, colour, placements, revealing, concealing, highlights, shadows and light.

Sessions will be a small group of 10 to allow each participant the opportunity to discuss images and ask questions from Charlie over each session. Learn from Charlie in this relaxed environment from the comfort of your own home.

The five sessions will be approx. 1 hour 15 mins long and are delivered via zoom at 4PM every Friday (see full description tab for dates).
