Adobe Lightroom, Next steps

Photoshop is literally the mother of all image editors.  It’s seemingly impenetrable 1980’s interface can be daunting to the uninitiated.  While Lightroom excels at organisation, batch processing and intuitive editing, Photoshop allows editing at a much deeper level.  Fortunately, Adobe has created an integrated solution allowing Lightroom users to use Photoshop as part of their workflow.  Photoshop used to be prohibitively expensive, now the Adobe Photography monthly subscription provides cost effective access to both, so why not get your money’s worth!

Join me on this workshop as an introduction to using Photoshop’s power within Lightroom and look at some of the reasons why Photoshop is still used today by professional photographers for retouching their images.

Agenda

  • The difference between Lightroom and Photoshop
  • Configuring Lightroom settings for Photoshop
  • Inside Photoshop, the tools and layers
  • Editing examples, including, but not limited to:
  • The power of selections and local adjustments
  • Using layers for non-destructive editing
  • Content aware fill and move
  • Luminosity masking and blending
  • Sharpening without halos
  • Focus Stacking
  • Actions
