Our 'Build your own Photography Website' workshop will take place in October with Adrian Beasley. Perhaps you want to have an online “calling-card” to help you show others what you do, maybe you want to show off your pictures to family and friends or you need a business website for your photography where you can sell prints and even training! A website is an important part of photography these days. If you want to make a website but have struggled to get started, this workshop is for you!  Using a powerful but simple tool we will quickly put together a photographic website and show you how to maintain it after the workshop.

This one-day workshop is based on Wix, an easy to use, free on-line website builder that is especially good for photo websites. By the end of the day, you will have created a unique website full of your own images with no on-going cost!

Build Your Own Photography Website Workshop

Agenda

  • A brief look at the different ways you can publish a website
  • Review of image quality and options to protect your images online
  • How websites are hosted and what they typically cost
  • Introduction to Wix
  • Selecting a starting template
  • Customisation

  • Building your website
  • Publishing your site
  • Embellishing your site and adding extra pages
  • A look at some extra features you can add and their costs
  • Buying and connecting a domain to your site

Who Should Attend and what to bring

You should be reasonably comfortable using your computer so we can avoid basic IT issues.

You don’t need to install any software or sign-up to anything ahead of the workshop, we will do that on the day.

You need to bring:

  • A computer (PC or Mac) you cannot use a tablet or phone to create a website
  • Some images ready to publish
  • I recommend a mouse for those who struggle with trackpads

Location & Facilities

The group size is limited to 10 places.  You will be using your own equipment.  Tea & coffee are provided.  There will be a break for lunch (lunch is not included) where you can choose to work through with your own packed lunch or take advantage of the local facilities.

Adrian will meet you at The Barge House, 46a De Beauvoir Crescent, London, N1 5RY at 10.00am. The course will finish at approx. 5pm.

Adrian Beasley has been teaching photographic post processing C&G Photography, Photoshop and Lightroom workshops for over 15 years and has been involved with computers since school.  He has a very engaging and relaxed teaching style, ideal for beginners.  Adrian is an Adobe Certified Expert.
