This Cornwall photography tour will be led by Clive Minnitt and Phil Malpas and will take place in September 2021. After a sell-out first Cornwall 'Wild West' tour, and another taking place in 2020, we are delighted to offer this tour once again for 2021.
Clive and Phil will guide you to photograph England’s 'Wild West', the very “end of the land” at the south-west tip of Cornwall. Spectacular coastline, oriented in all four compass points, will allow us to use the entire day to make the most of the available lighting from dawn to dusk.
On the north coast is Godrevy Lighthouse at Godrevy Point, and of course, St. Ives which has inspired many local artists for decades. On the west coast, we will explore the beautiful coves at Sennen, Mullion and Porth Nanven and in the south, we will visit St. Michael’s Mount and various points around the Lizard peninsula.

After a sell-out first Cornwall “Wild West” photography tour, we are delighted to offer this tour again for 2020. This tour is led by Clive Minnitt and Phil Malpas who will guide you to photograph England’s “Wild West” the very “end of the land” at the south-west tip of Cornwall. Spectacular coastline, oriented in all four compass points, will allow us to use the entire day to make the most of the available lighting from dawn to dusk.
On the north coast is Godrevy Lighthouse at Godrevy Point, and of course, St. Ives which has inspired many local artists for decades. In the middle of the 20th century this sleepy fishing village was transformed into a thriving artist’s colony and the epicentre of the British Modernist Movement.
On the west coast, we will explore the beautiful coves at Sennen, Mullion and Porth Nanven as well as the famed “Crowns” engine houses at Botallack Tin Mines that cling precariously to the bottom of the cliffs.
In the south, we will visit St. Michael’s Mount and various points around the Lizard peninsula including the wonderfully picturesque Kynance Cove and Cadgewith. For our final compass point we will spend some time in the east facing village of Mousehole where the tiny harbour is surrounded by narrow streets and alleys lined with quintessential fishermen’s cottages.
Clive and Phil will construct an itinerary that will make sure we visit each location at the correct time of day to make the most of the available light.
As if the spectacular scenery at the western tip of the mainland UK didn’t offer enough inspiration, we are delighted that we will be staying at the Hotel Penzance in Penzance. The perfect place to unwind with a nice drink after a long day shooting.
At the beginning of each day, Clive and Phil will advise you of their planned itinerary. On arrival at each location, they will give you a detailed description of the photographic opportunities on offer. You will have ample time to explore each location and Clive, Phil and Charlie will be at your side to help you make the most of the beautiful scenery whatever the prevailing conditions. We will travel between locations in two comfortable 9-seater minibuses. A reasonable level of fitness will be needed to access some of the locations.
"Thank you again and again for a great trip! So well organised, with wonderful input on photography and such interesting places to go to, I really hope to travel with you two again (if you'll let me)." - Marja Diessel, October 2018
Apart from the stunning locations Phil Malpas and Clive Minnitt are excellent tour leaders. Always willing to share their undoubted expertise in supporting and developing your photography skills. Once again a wonderful tour which has enhanced my learning.
A super trip, all precautions taken with respect the dreaded Covid... but even more importantly a chance to get out again with like minded photo folk.
