As the river Thames sneaks its way from the Isle of Dogs towards the City of London, it serves as the focus for our workshop. We will use the day to explore both old and new of London’s iconic skyline, as well as discovering lesser known views of an area that has undergone dramatic changes in recent years. We start at Canary Wharf and finish for sunset near Tower Bridge.

Your guide for our Docklands to Dusk photography workshop will be Astrid McGechan who has photographed extensively in London. She will ensure that the day is filled with wonderful photographic locations.

Docklands to Dusk Photography Workshop - London Landscape Photography

As the river Thames sneaks its way from the Isle of Dogs towards the City of London, it serves as the focus for our workshop. We will use the day to explore both old and new of London’s iconic skyline, as well as discovering lesser known views of an area that has undergone dramatic changes in recent years. We start at Canary Wharf and finish for sunset near Tower Bridge. Your guide for the day will be Astrid, who has photographed extensively in London, and she will ensure that the day is filled with wonderful photographic locations.

'Manhattan' style skyscrapers, medieval churches, birds eye views from a rooftop and the City skyline lit for the evening - this workshop programme is an feast for all styles of photography, with opportunities to shoot long exposures, water abstracts and reflections, street scenes and architecture, and whatever other opportunities come our way… Astrid will be on hand throughout to offer guidance on composition and techniques, and to help you master new skills with your camera, no matter whether you are a beginner or at a more advanced level. You are sure to go home with a memory card full of new images and some new skills to use in the future.

Transportation will be mainly on foot to allow us to move around freely, with no longer than 20 mins walking between locations. We will utilise the DLR (zones 1 & 2) to move between Docklands and the City. Astrid hopes you can join her for this exciting workshop in London.

This workshop starts at 12noon and finishes at around 8:30pm, after sunset.

Good locations, enthusiastic leader. However Too much walking to too many locations and not enough time to get the most out of any. Walk to south bank too far for no gain. Would be best just concentrating on the Dockland and city locations.
