Iceland from the Air Photography Tour

Join Antony Spencer on an incredible journey of one of the world's most photogenic landscapes- Iceland.

This will be a journey like no other. The views from high above this landscape is nothing short of astonishing. Using a helicopter not only will we be in a position to make images from the air but we will also be able to land in otherwise inaccessible locations such as on glaciers themselves and mountain peaks and hidden waterfalls, canyons and geothermal regions. There is no end to the possibilities.

Iceland has many incredible river deltas and using Antony’s experience of these we will make many images of each location. As well as river deltas we will have the opportunity to achieve a bird's eye view of mountains, volcanoes, glaciers and more. The helicopter will have the rear door off as well as having an opening window for the front seat. We will be alternating seating positions so that each of the four participants has a chance to photograph without glass in front of them at every location.

We will have seven hours of flying time, this is the best way to reach as many locations as possible with plenty of time for adjusting positions to compose from above. Antony has dozens of hours flying experience and will be sat in the front seat to liaise with the pilot and keep the helicopter in the right areas at all times. The seven hours will be broken up as much as possible for swapping seats and food/drink breaks.

When we are not in the air we will be utilising all available light in many of Iceland’s incredible landscapes and spending time processing our images together also.

This tour is led in association with Phase One. Every participant will have the option to use a full Phase One camera system and a choice of lenses to use for the entire trip (additional cost of £500 for this option). Antony is very experienced with these systems and will be able to offer tuition to get the very best from your time with the very best camera systems on the planet.

Our hotel is situated in Hella which is ideally situated for exploring the vast majority of locations along the South Coast when not in the helicopter.

This tour is limited to four participants as this is the maximum number that can be taken into the aircraft.
