This remarkably small and diverse country will provide us with multiple opportunities to explore its rugged beauty, dramatic landscapes and breathtakingly impressive ancient ruins.

On this Jordan photography tour we will visit and photograph one of the best-preserved ancient Roman cities of Jerash, with its ruins set in a stunningly dramatic landscape on a plain surrounded by hilly woodland.

Then of course the infamous rose red city of Petra, where we will have ample time to explore and make images of this magnificent location that changes colour as the day goes by, its multitude of tombs carved into the multi-coloured rock face and the dramatic mountainous scenery surrounding the site. Nothing can prepare you for the ‘full on’ Petra experience, the Nabatean jewel of Jordan.

Our Jordan photography tour is designed for landscape photographers. There will never be any rush and Charlie will be keen to introduce and assist his guests with all things related to photography in pursuit of returning home with rewarding images that embrace the spirit of this wonderful country.

Jordan Photography Tour - Jordan Landscape Photography with Charlie Waite

We will take in one of the major cities of Jordan, the capital Amman, originally set on seven hills, is now a vast sprawling city. It's cosmopolitan side contrasts against the ancient citadel which is situated in the old city centre on a hillside and overlooks this impressive city.

We will have the ‘must do’ opportunity to make images of two contrasting desert landscapes of Jordan. Wadi Araba is a harsh and dramatic landscape which is dotted with Eucalyptus trees with a backdrop of imposing black granite mountains and small rural agricultural Bedouin villages. The desert of Wadi Rum has a lunar like landscape made of monolithic outcrops of granite and sandstone rocks.

For many, Wadi Rum will bring memories of the great David Lean film 'Lawrence of Arabia'. Neither Wadi Araba nor Wadi Rum will disappoint.

Our Jordan photography tour is designed for landscape photographers. There will never be any rush and Charlie will be keen to introduce and assist his guests with all things related to photography in pursuit of returning home with rewarding images that embrace the spirit of this wonderful country.

This is part of our Luxury Edition tours, pllaces on this tour are limited to six to ensure ample time for each participant to spend with Charlie.

It was excellent, fun and rewarding, good value for the money and I would recommend Light and Land to anyone who loves travelling and photography.

For tours outside of the UK, we will select a recommended flight which will depart from a London airport to the destination. In most cases (unless stated otherwise), the tour leaders will greet you at the destination airport from this flight and return you to the airport at the end of the tour.

Please DO NOT book your flights until advised to do so by the office. Tours have to become viable before we select the recommended flight.

Once a tour has enough bookings to make it viable, you will receive an email to alert you that the recommended flights have been uploaded to your client area on the website.

You are welcome to make alternative travel arrangements. If doing so, please ensure you are at the destination airport for the arrival time of the recommended flight to ensure you can take the transfer to the hotel. Alternatively you can arrange your own transfers and meet the group at the hotel on the first night.
