Lochs of Scotland Photography Tour - Scotland Landscape Photography

This seven day Lochs of Scotland photography tour will wind its way through the mystical hills and glens of Scotland, highlighting the ever present raw beauty encapsulated within its vast array of lochs.

Scotland is the land of lochs, castles and epic landscapes, which present a unique opportunity to create dramatic images full of atmosphere and intrigue. Lochs are at the heart of Scotlands beauty and their ever changing reflections and peaceful shores are the ideal place to explore your creativity and let your imagination run wild.

Enjoy the opportunity to visit several of the finest Lochs in Scotland during a time of year that exhibits the best light and conditions for landscape photography.

Highlights:

Loch Awe and its surrounding wooded slopes, distant snow capped mountains and the ancient ruin of Kilchurn Castle that lies on a peninsula jutting into the loch.

Loch Leven nestled beneath some the highest peaks in Scotland. Brimming with wildlife and history, Loch Leven is the largest natural shallow water body in lowland Britain.

Loch Ness, one of the most atmospheric and infamous lochs with its serene and peaceful surroundings.

We will spend our first two nights on the banks of Loch Awe and travel onwards to Loch Leven for a further two nights. From our base in Drumnadrochit for the remainder of the trip, we will travel around Loch Ness, which offers a wide variety of landscapes to photograph. From Urquhart Castle, which juts into the Loch, the Falls of Foyers which showcases the true power of water, woodland areas and rivers; the opportunities are endless in this area. We may also have the opportunity to explore the lochs of the Cairngorms if time allows.

We will have a 9 seater minibus to travel between locations and enjoy the freedom to respond to conditions as they change. Most locations are within close distance from the roadside but there will be opportunities for slightly longer walks.

Scotlands Lochs is tutored by Margaret Soraya who has lived in the Loch Ness area for many years and has a passion for photographing at the waters edge. You will have tuition on location as well as evenings spent with friendly and encouraging help working on your images. It is optional to bring along some of your own work for review and discussion
