London is one of the most photographed cities in the world, its street life, vibrant markets, cafe culture and of course architecture are its trademarks. During our day in London you can expect the hustle and bustle of Borough Market with its colour stalls and boisterous traders to be in full flow. The City, across The Thames, will be thankfully quieter as trading ceases, so we can explore the arcades and contrasting modern, classical and Brutalist styles that make London so popular with photographers.

This London photography workshop will aim to explore various mediums including Abstract, Street, Architectural and Black and White photography. Your guide will be Light and Land tour leader Paul Sanders.

London Photography Workshop - London Old and New Photography

London is one of the most photographed cities in the world, its street life, vibrant markets, cafe culture and of course architecture are its trademarks. During our day in London you can expect the hustle and bustle of Borough Market with its colour stalls and boisterous traders to be in full flow. The City, across The Thames, will be thankfully quieter as trading ceases, so we can explore the arcades and contrasting modern, classical and Brutalist styles that make London so popular with photographers.

This is a workshop that will aim to discover finding new ways of interpretating the city and is designed to maximise shooting opportunities.  The weather will largely dictate the mood of the day, however the magic of the city will guide us to our photographic opportunities.  During the day the group can explore various mediums during this workshop including Abstract, Street, Architectural or Black and White photography. Your guide for this tour will be Light and Land tour leader Paul Sanders.

A few key highlights will be Borough Market, The Bank of England, St Paul’s, under Blackfriars Bridge, The Tate Modern, and many more.

Paul will meet at the group outside Citizen M, 20 Lavington Street, London SE1 0NZ at 9.30am.  The workshop will conclude at 4.30pm.

I thoroughly enjoyed the day. I thought the areas we were taken were good choices and we had ample opportunity to look around and take photos. Paul was an excellent leader and was available to help anyone who wanted some support. He also helped us with composition as he encouraged us to look at scenes from different angles.

Karen - 17th Jul, 2019

This was an excellent day, a well-thought out itinerary, a good variety of locations and experiences, and Paul's easy-going and informal style of tuition/guidance was perfect (and not too technical!). I really enjoyed it.

Patrick - 13th Jul, 2019

It was an excellent trip because Paul had designed a very good route to take in different sites which offered different photographic interpretations. Throughout the day he was always available for advice as well as offering advice and inspirational ideas whilst giving ample time at locations to explore.

Paul is an excellent tutor, being helpful and never patronising. He is very encouraging. The tour of London was well planned and it was a really relaxing day. The group members were friendly and good fun. A really nice workshop.

The instructor (Paul Sanders) was very helpful, very nice, very friendly. The pace of the tour was not fast, so we can take our time and think about what we were seeing/ shooting. A very good day out!
