The North Norfolk coast has been overlooked for many years, it is an area very much undiscovered and is now catching the eye of the ‘photographer’ with its sandy beaches, salt marshes, sand dunes, striking cliff edges and big bold impressive skies. The light at this time of the year is a wonderful soft light that enhances the landscape and with us staying on this coastline we can keep an eye on storms coming in creating those fantastic skies!

North Norfolk Coast - Big Sky Country

The North Norfolk coast has been overlooked for many years, it is an area very much undiscovered and is now catching the eye of the ‘photographer’ with its sandy beaches, salt marshes, sand dunes, striking cliff edges and big bold impressive skies. The light at this time of the year is a wonderful soft light that enhances the landscape and with us staying on this coastline we can keep an eye on storms coming in creating those fantastic skies!

We have some of the most beautiful beaches to explore together; Holkham bay with its stunning sand dunes, Sea defences along the coast at Old Hunstanton and Brancaster; Windmills and Wind pumps and of course the famous Happisburgh Lighthouse.  As well as Beach huts on stilts at the beautiful Wells-Next-the-Sea with the backdrop of pinewood forests, The Victorian pier at Cromer, which is perfectly positioned for the early morning light and the many, many old boats.  As photographers our photographic opportunities of image making are endless along this coastline!

Our base will be at The Titchwell Manor Hotel.  This is a superb location, with short driving distances to some of North Norfolk’s most stunning scenes, and with the shorter daylight hours means we don’t need to be up to early to enjoy the beautiful light this part of the country has to offer.

Waterproofs and good walking boots are essential; we will be exploring as much as we can on foot, with the possibilities of a boat trip to Blakeney point to explore this area, weather permitting of course!

Arrival by early afternoon on the first day would allow us to check into our accommodation and enjoy a afternoon drink together before heading out into the fresh air for our first shoot together at sunset.  Dinner and a good nights sleep and you’ll be ready for the adventures of the next day!!

The Titchwell Manor

13th - 16th November 2017: Staying at the Titchwell Manor Hotel. Single occupancy, bed and breakfast for 3 nights.

Good balance and variety between big locations that might take an afternoon and small ones (a copse of trees) that might take half an hour. The Blakeney Hotel is difficult to fault. Comfy sofas, log fires, good coffee! Big rooms so plenty of space for gear. Lovely staff. March, 2016
