Uganda is celebrated as the "Pearl of Africa," a title bestowed on it by Winston Churchill in 1908 due to its stunning beauty, diversity, and natural resources, featuring lush, misty primordial forests, expansive grasslands beneath vast skies, glacier-topped mountains, and tropical islands adorned with sandy beaches. It boasts tumultuous rivers, tranquil sparkling lakes, and extensive papyrus wetlands.
Home to a remarkable variety of wildlife and fascinating bird species, Uganda lies along the northern shores of Lake Victoria, which is both the source of the River Nile and the world’s second-largest freshwater lake. Its unique geographical location allows for the observation of both Savanna species typical to East Africa, and forest species that are more common in Central Africa, including chimpanzees, and mountain gorillas. Uganda is one of just three countries globally where you can encounter mountain gorillas in their natural environment.
Combined with the rich cultural history and heritage of over fifty tribes who inhabit this incredible land and warmly welcome visitors, Uganda truly is a remarkable destination.

Uganda Photography Tour - The Pearl of Africa
Uganda's beautiful countryside has an abundance of scenic drives along roads lined with banana, mango and jackfruit trees, tea and coffee plantations, as well as along lakes and rivers. Sixty different tribes are registered with the state, including the first people to arrive in this land about 5,000 years ago – the Batwa Tribe (pygmy families) and the Bahima Tribe, which is famous for keeping long-horned Ankole cattle.
Significant natural resources, including fertile land, regular rainfall and mineral deposits, make the country economically more prosperous compared to most other African countries. Uganda truly has it all: breathtaking landscapes, diverse wildlife, bustling urban areas brimming with cultural heritage, and a wealth of tribes and people with deep cultural roots.
The biggest highlight of this tour will be a hike into the forest on a gorilla and chimpanzee excursion. Accompanied by porters and rangers, it may take between 45 mins to 2 hours to reach the gorillas. While you don’t need to be a top athlete for gorilla tracking, being in good physical condition is essential, as you will be navigating steep, rough, and uneven terrain. The rangers and porters will adapt to the pace of the slowest hiker, with multiple breaks for refreshments, and the porters will help to carry your equipment. This day may be strenuous ("Three Footprints").
