Vietnam Photography Tour - Vietnam Landscape Photography

After two sell-out tours in 2017 and 2018, we’re delighted to be returning to Vietnam with leaders Sam Gregory & Benedict Brain. Vietnam is an exciting, self-confident rising star that as recently as the 1990’s chose to keep the world at bay.

Carefully designed to include the very best of this remarkable country, with its breath-taking natural beauty, enticing culture and truly wonderful people, our 11-day Vietnam photography tour will be based in five different locations essentially covering the north, central and southern areas with the longer journeys being covered by two internal flights.

We begin our tour in the capital Hanoi. Here we will contrast the manic, action-packed streets of the city with the peaceful, tranquil beauty of the surrounding villages where we will have the opportunity to meet local people and admire the centuries old architecture. We will have time to explore with our cameras during which we will discover the labyrinthine Old Quarter and enjoy the south east Asian, French and Chinese influences that combine to make a fascinating start to our tour.

In these first few days we will also visit local ancient villages to experience the heritage of old Vietnam and its people. We will also visit the spectacular World Heritage site at Halong Bay. Here our private boat will be our home for an afternoon and a morning (including one night on-board) and will be our platform to discover the bay where “the dragon descends into the sea”. The emerald green waters are dotted with jungle-topped islands that, legend has it, were carved out by the thrashing dragon as he charged from the mountains to the coast.

After a short internal flight we will spend the middle couple of days around the coastal area of Doc Let and Hon Khoi. Here we will get to explore the sale fields with their reflective pools and surreal scenes. We will also experience the Cham tribe and their habitation around the sand dunes before heading south for our final few days.

Another short flight will deliver us to the amazing Ho Chi Minh City (still commonly referred to as Saigon by its 8 million or so inhabitants). After our first explorations in Ho Chi Minh City we will then travel to the relative peace and tranquillity of Can Tho – our gateway to the Mekong Delta. Here, once again, we take to the water for early visits to the amazing “floating markets” where the waterways become a maze of hundreds of boats packed with mango, bananas, papaya, pineapple, and even floating pho (noodle soup) vendors.

Finally, we return to Ho Chi Minh to spend our last night in this wonderful city. The commercial centre of the country and a dizzying, eclectic mix of old and new, HCMC is the driving force behind Vietnam’s sense of optimism and excitement for the future. Here we will have time to explore the bustling streets where an “if you blink you’ll miss it” hustle and bustle will provide endless subjects for our cameras.

This will be an amazing opportunity to soak up a different culture and some unique heritage and stunning landscapes. Throughout the tour Sam, Benedict and our local guide will be on hand to inspire and finesse your photography with their combined experience whilst enjoying this fabulous country and all it has to offer.

For tours outside of the UK, we will select a recommended flight which will depart from a London airport to the destination. In most cases (unless stated otherwise), the tour leaders will greet you at the destination airport from this flight and return you to the airport at the end of the tour.

Please DO NOT book your flights until advised to do so by the office. Tours have to become viable before we select the recommended flight.

Once a tour has enough bookings to make it viable, you will receive an email to alert you that the recommended flights have been uploaded to your client area on the website.

You are welcome to make alternative travel arrangements. If doing so, please ensure you are at the destination airport for the arrival time of the recommended flight to ensure you can take the transfer to the hotel. Alternatively you can arrange your own transfers and meet the group at the hotel on the first night.
