London provides photographers with endless opportunities to capture the hustle and bustle of street life, architecture, grand views and unique, unrepeatable little moments in the life of its people.

The route for our London at night photography workshop will lead us along the southside of the Thames before we cross the river and head into Westminster. We will explore ways to utilise the available light to produce images which capture the true character of London at night.

‘When Night Falls’ - a London Photography Workshop

London Photography Workshop - London at Night Photography

London provides photographers with endless opportunities to capture the hustle and bustle of street life, architecture, grand views and unique, unrepeatable little moments in the life of its people. The city never sleeps, and when the day fades away and the lights come on, a whole new world appears bringing with it new and exciting opportunities to make interesting photographs.

During our workshop, we will explore how London changes when night falls. We will photograph iconic views across the river and will discover how the appearance of some of the city’s most recognisable buildings are transformed when they are lit by artificial light.

Our route, which leads along the southside of the Thames before we cross the river and head into Westminster, will provide us with a plethora of subjects. Photographing at lower light levels does not necessarily require shooting with the camera on a tripod, although that will come in handy, on occasion. We will explore ways to utilise the available light to produce images which capture the true character of London at night.

Your guide for the evening will be Astrid who has spent many years photographing in London using a range of techniques. She will be at hand throughout to help and guide you, whether you are looking for a first introduction or want to delve deeper into low-light photography in the city.

We will be walking just over 3 miles but can grab some refreshments when we start and again along the way on the Southbank.

Our group will meet outside Tate Modern at 4pm, and the workshop will finish around 9pm at Green Park Underground Station.

This workshop is limited to six places only.
