The traffic-free village of Wengen in the Swiss Alps is our base for this photography tour to explore one of Europe’s most beautiful landscapes. This late June trip is timed to coincide with the sight of carpets of colourful wildflowers. Our Wengen photography tour focuses on the flower-filled landscapes and mountains, with the mighty snow-capped peaks of Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau the backdrop to the alpine meadows.
We will hope to photograph many species of alpine flora including globe flowers, anemones and gentians, both individually and en masse as a flower-filled foreground to the majestic mountains. As well as the flowers we come across during our gentle walks, we will photograph in the world famous Alpine Botanic Garden at Schynige Platte, home to 600 local plant species, and with breath-taking mountain views. There will be no road journeys, as the trip will explore the meadows and spruce forests of the Bernese Oberland on foot or by train and cable car.
Your Wengen tour guide will be Sue Bishop co founder of Light & Land in 1994. Sue is an inspirational lecturer and experienced workshop leader who specialises in flower and landscape photography.
Sue will arrive in Wengen a few days before the tour for a final recce of the best flower locations, and will then decide on the day to day itinerary according to the weather conditions.

Sue Bishop was a fantastic guide and teacher of floral macro photography. She had researched the best locations for wildflowers, as well as great cafes along the way.
Excellent. Sue is great as were my companions. This quality is why I book with Light & Land
Excellent tour leader Brilliantly organized
I thought the trip was very well organised. Sue worked extremely hard to make it a good trip for us and her help in taking images really benefitted my photography. I really enjoyed the company of the group and the location, which was stunning. An excellent trip.
Sue knew the area well and planned each day's activities to perfection. She was always on hand to offer help and advice which enabled us to get the most out of the trip.
For tours outside of the UK, we will select a recommended flight which will depart from a London airport to the destination. In most cases (unless stated otherwise), the tour leaders will greet you at the destination airport from this flight and return you to the airport at the end of the tour.
Please DO NOT book your flights until advised to do so by the office. Tours have to become viable before we select the recommended flight.
Once a tour has enough bookings to make it viable, you will receive an email to alert you that the recommended flights have been uploaded to your client area on the website.
You are welcome to make alternative travel arrangements. If doing so, please ensure you are at the destination airport for the arrival time of the recommended flight to ensure you can take the transfer to the hotel. Alternatively you can arrange your own transfers and meet the group at the hotel on the first night.
