Phil Malpas
Phil Malpas is a freelance photographer, educator and writer based in Wiltshire in the south west of the United Kingdom. Phil's first book "Capturing Colour" was published in November 2007 and has been translated into a number of languages for sale all over the world. This was followed in November 2009 by the publication of "Finding the Picture" which was co-authored with Clive Minnitt. In May 2010 Phil was delighted to contribute to "Travel Photography Masterclass" with many of his Light and Land colleagues. 25 years ago, Phil attended the first ever Light and Land tour in The Lake District and the following year, joined Charlie Waite for the inaugural overseas tour in Tuscany. In May 2002 Phil led his first tour with his good friend and colleague Clive Minnitt and has now become one of the most prolific and well established tour leaders. Phil has since led over 100 Light and Land tours and workshops to various locations around the world. Experienced in the use of Large Format, DSLRs and digital compact cameras, Phil has a reputation for explaining the complicated in simple language and his passion for photographing almost anything is infectious.
