West Bay Dorset Photography Workshop - West Bay Dorset Landscape Photography

This workshop embraces the concept of change in photography; both in terms of the landscape that surrounds us and the equipment we use to express ourselves visually. Based in West Bay on the Dorset Coast, we will explore the beautiful shoreline and seafront elements. There will be photography advice from Sam Gregory throughout the day, plus a chance to try a wide range of pre-owned mirrorless equipment from our partners MPB.

Your choice of equipment affects your ability to create and express your own vision. Many photographers have now made the switch to mirrorless for weight and function reasons. If you’ve been considering this switch or indeed if you have already made it but would like to test more mirrorless equipment, or add another lens to your kit, then this is a great opportunity to try it out. During this workshop you’ll have the chance to try a range of pre-owned mirrorless gear and test it in the field to discover the new creative avenues it may open for you with expert guidance on how to harness the photographic possibilities.

Creating compelling and unique imagery not only comes from within but as a photographer you need to have a variety of creative tools at your fingertips. Here, your choice of equipment and full understanding of how to use it is paramount. During this workshop you will have the chance to try mirrorless bodies and lenses from the UK’s largest pre-owned stock range thanks to our partners MPB. All the pre-owned equipment is fully checked and offers a great way to upgrade whilst saving often hundreds or thousands of pounds.

We will explore some of the stunning sights along this section of the Jurassic Coast with your chosen equipment and you’ll get expert advice about how it works from the MPB team, plus guidance on how to best use it photographically from our leader Sam Gregory. West Bay is packed full of interesting harbour scenes and of course sits right by the seafront allowing for a wide range of photographic shooting opportunities for us to explore with you.

You may have been considering the switch to mirrorless, lightening your load and taking advantage of many of the features of these new systems. Sam recently changed to a full mirrorless set-up in the last 12 months so is happy to pass on his thoughts and advice from this experience. This is the perfect day to get your hands on a range of gear and test it ‘in the field’ with expert help and tuition in a creative and no pressure environment.

We will meet at the Haddon House Hotel at 10am, the day will finish at 4pm. We will be in touch before the event to discuss any gear testing requirements to make sure we have the items available on the day for you.

The £10 fee for this workshop will be donated to the Disabled Photographers' Society, you can find out more about them here.
