Our Hartland Peninsula photography tour will take place in November with Adrian Beasley. The Hartland Peninsula is at the western end of the North Devon coast. A rugged and exposed region of towering cliffs and secluded bays. The cliffs at Hartland Quay display a spectacularly folded sequence of alternating grey shales and sandstones known as the Crackington Formation that was deposited in the Carboniferous period approximately 320 million years ago.
The South West coast path follows the cliff edge here but there are a number of options to descend to sea level and experience the rock structures and see up close. At low tide, the finger-like rock formations extend into the sea creating amazing leading lines.
This tour is limited to just 4 participants.

We will be staying at the remote Hartland Quay Hotel for 4 nights. This will allow for 3 full days to explore the coast on our doorstep. We will have printing facilities on hand to allow us to develop and print our work during the stay and give us some weather flexibility.
Hartland is rugged and can be cold, wet and windy in the winter. The walking can be quite strenuous with plenty of climbs and descents via sometimes muddy footpaths. We will use our feet to get to all the locations, so this tour is for individuals with a good level of fitness. Having said that, we are there to experience and photograph and being based at the Quay, there won’t be a rush for the minibus to the next location, we can take our time.
This tour is limited to just 4 participants.
Adrian will meet the group at Hartland Quay Hotel at 4pm on Tuesday, 1 November. The tour will finish at 4pm on Saturday, 5 November 2022.

Great location which had been well scouted for the best shots; excellent tutor able to provide insight across the whole capture to print process. In particular I learnt a huge amount about editing techniques and shortcuts. Highly recommended.
