This eight day Lochs of Scotland photography tour will wind its way through the mystical hills and glens of Scotland, highlighting the ever present raw beauty encapsulated within its vast array of lochs.

Highlights:

Loch Awe and its surrounding wooded slopes, distant snow capped mountains and the ancient ruin of Kilchurn Castle that lies on a peninsula jutting into the loch.

Loch Leven nestled beneath some the highest peaks in Scotland. Brimming with wildlife and history, Loch Leven is the largest natural shallow water body in lowland Britain. We will also visit smaller nearby lochs.

The Trossachs is a region featuring numerous lochs set in spectacular mountain and forest scenery.

We will spend our first two nights on the banks of Loch Awe and travel onwards to Glencoe for three nights. Our final stop is in Callander, gateway to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.

We will have a 9-seater minibus to travel between locations and enjoy the freedom to respond to conditions as they change. Most locations are within close distance from the roadside but there will be opportunities for slightly longer walks.

Scotland’s Lochs is tutored by Ben Osborne who is familiar with the area and has a passion for photographing this part of the world. You will have tuition on location as well as evenings spent with friendly and encouraging help working on your images. It is optional to bring along some of your own work for review and discussion.

A really good tour with an amazing leader and very enjoyable company. It would have been 5 stars but Loch Ness was rather disappointing and I would advise spending more time around Glencoe where there were more photographic opportunities. Ben was a fantastic leader and tutor. I really learnt from him and loved his energy and enthusiasm. I wonder if the tour would work well in reverse. The first hotel was beautiful and would be great as the finale with lots of space to relax and share images.

Excellent tour leader, very well planned, wide variety of photographic opportunities, and good hotels

First 4 days were excellent but given the choice of inspiring lochs to photograph in Scotland, Loch Ness is not one of them. Very restricted and generally uninspiring locations in the area. All worthwhile locations seemed to be a considerable drive away from the hotel on the other side of the loch meaning much more driving time and much less photography time. I was apprehensive about that part of the tour when booking but ready to be converted. Despite Ben's every effort to maximise the opportun

Excellent workshop/tour. Professional, friendly and inspiring. Exceeded my expectations and whet my appetite for more adventures.

Mr Odie Evans - 18th Sep, 2021

I have done a few Light & Land trips now and whilst I don’t normally bother with reviews I feel the guiding by Ben Osborne requires a special mention. I have always had a pretty good experience with the L&L guides but Ben was fantastic. Drafted into the tour at short notice he provided a fantastic experience for all the tour members with an amazing varsity of locations around Loch Awe, Loch Leven and Loch Ness. He even managed to fit in a detour across Rannoch Moor and Glencoe. Always cheerful

Ms Linda Wride - 18th Sep, 2021

Excellent tutor (helped me achieve my aim for the trip) who understood the requirements and needs of a varied group and was very flexible about timings and locations. The tour took me to places I would never get to or find out about on my own with a lovely group of fellow photography enthusiasts!
