Andy Farrer won Landscape Photographer of the Year in 2015 and has been a photographer for most of his career. For Andy, the capture of his images is the start of a journey where the processing is as important and enjoyable as the capture itself. Andy has always been very connected to the print aspect of photography, since seeing his first black & white print emerge in the developer in a camera club darkroom. Currently enjoying a 100% digital workflow, from capture to print, he still finds it as rewarding and even more consistent than his wet darkroom days. Andy now has a professional print studio near his home, which will be our base for this workshop.
Adrian Beasley has taught C&G Photography, Black & White developing & printing, Photoshop and Lightroom workshops for over 15 years and has been involved with computers since school. He spent his early years working and teaching darkroom techniques, progressing to his own large format digital printing system at the turn of the century! He has a very engaging and relaxed teaching style. Adrian is an ACE (Adobe Certified Expert).
The group will meet in the evening of 7 July at the hotel, and the printing workshop will commence at 9.30am at the Fine Art Inkorporated print facility in Swanage. The workshop will conclude around 5pm on 9 July.
A highly informative and enjoyable 2 day workshop with plenty of time for both theory and practice with excellent and patient instruction and advice from Adrian and Andy. I now feel ready to take my next step into printing.
The workshop was very well structured, it catered for all levels of printing experience. Adrian and Andy asked each student for their level of printing success and any areas that we had problems with. The technical details for printing were explained in an easy paced delivery as we were at different stages of experience. The images we were asked to bring along were then analysed by both Adrian and Andy and with the aid of the info Adrian gave us previously we were able to select, adjust and set
Andy and Adrian know their stuff inside out and are also both really encouraging and helpful. I came away with a set of prints and the knowledge to make my own. Highly recommended.
Excellent weekend, Day 1 - Lots of theory, all bases covered , Day 2 - lots of practical hands-on experience and some great prints produced. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable instructors, thoroughly enjoyed it.
An absolutely brilliant and, in my view, essential workshop for any photographer looking to get the most from their images in print. I really didn't know where to begin with printing beforehand and, having looked for some time for a course that could help demystify the process, I was delighted to stumble upon this workshop. As well as having excellent knowledge, experience and technical expertise in printing, Andy and Adrian are both extremely talented photographers so the content and pace ove
Adrian and Andy are extremely knowledgeable about their specialisms and photography in general. Equally importantly, they are both very approachable, encouraging and supportive in their 1 to 1 and group interactions. The workshop was really informative and really motivational. Altogether, a fabulous week-end. Thank you both!
A great course to take your printing to a professional level, with informative tuition from both Adrian and Andy on day one followed by practical tuition and printing on day two. Highly recommended if you print at home or want to prepare your images for professional printing.
An excellent weekend of expert tuition delivered in a relaxed and friendly manner. I learned a lot and feel inspired to progress with my photography.
Outstanding course - great mix of theory and practical with very strong teachers and great group dynamic
The two day course was filled with good tuition and advice on printing with practical demonstrations that brought it to life. Would recommend this course for anyone who wants to take their photography to the next level.
Well constructed covering everything you need to know about printing and types of paper to select. The pace matched the level of the participants and encouraged to ask questions without feeling stupid. The environment was warm and friendly allowing each one of us to absorb the new information being imparted. Good example of tell, show and do. Overall excellent course and well worth the money and time and so pleased Adrian was able to conduct in Devon so a big thank you to him.
Excellent tutoring in a relaxed and friendly environment.
