New Forest Photography Workshop in Autumn – From Camera to Print

New Forest Photography Workshop - New Forest Landscape Photography

Our New Forest photography workshop in autumn offers photographers a stunning palette of colours and textures. This two-day weekend workshop is designed to help you from capture through to the final print.

Your tutors Andy Farrer and Sam Gregory both live within a short distance of the New Forest and will be on hand to help in the field with composition, interpretation and developing your aesthetic vision. During our second day there will also be time dedicated to post-processing advice, optimising the digital files for print and finally the choice of paper and end result being prints of your own from the weekend.

On our first day we will be based in the central & northern areas of the New Forest National Park, starting at Rufus Stone. This area has an abundant variety of trees and looks resplendent in its autumnal colours. The New Forest is believed to have the highest concentration of ancient trees in Western Europe. Species in the Forest include oaks, beech, yew, holly, birch and more.

We will spend the first day exploring 2-3 areas in the Forest, making sure to take our time and really focus on composition and capturing the splendour of the autumn colours and textures. In the late afternoon/early evening we will then head to our overnight accommodation in Wareham, Dorset.

We will get out for an early shoot on Day 2 (location will depend on prevailing conditions) but it will be around the Wareham/East Dorset area. After a morning shoot, we then have the remainder of the day to focus on post-processing and printing prep and advice. This session will be held at the Fine Art Inkorporated office in Swanage where we will have our own private space for post-processing discussions and access to large professional Canon printing facilities with a range of various papers which we can advise on.

The weekend workshop will finish around 4pm on Sunday afternoon at the Fine Art Inkorporated studio in Swanage.

Please note: Because of the post-processing and print parts of this weekend workshop, participants would require a laptop with them. Guests will be required to have transport from the New Forest location on day one to Wareham, Dorset in the evening. If you require assistance with this travel, please contact us in advance.
