Our Canadian Rockies photography tour in September 2022 will be a photographer’s paradise. Golden larches and aspens, turquoise lakes, mist on the water, snow on the peaks, Fall is a time in the Rockies when weather conditions can change rapidly as we dance between seasons. There will be the possibility of early-season snowfall, frost and icy foregrounds, as well as blue skies and mirror-like lakes.
During the tour we will be accessing the three National Parks of Banff, Jasper and Yoho; taking in many iconic locations such as Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, Vermilion Lakes, as well as lesser known but equally beautiful areas for photography. We will also be exploring the scenic Icefields Parkway, considered to be one of the most spectacular roads in the world.

Canadian Rockies Photography Tour - Canadian Rockies in Fall Landscape Photography
The Canadian Rockies in the fall is a photographer’s paradise.
During this Canadian Rockies photography tour, we will be accessing the three National Parks of Banff, Jasper and Yoho; taking in many iconic locations such as Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, Vermilion Lakes, as well as lesser known but equally beautiful areas for photography. We will also be exploring the scenic Icefields Parkway, considered to be one of the most spectacular roads in the world.
With an abundance of locations within easy reach of our two bases, we will keep a loose but full itinerary, so that we can best react to weather forecasts. Sunrises will be the norm as the morning light in the Rockies is simply too good to miss. Blue hour and astro shoots will be incorporated when clearer skies make this possible.
Locations may include:
Tangle falls, Sunwapta Falls, Athabasca falls, Horeshoe Lake, Mount Edith Cavell, Pyramid Lake and Island, Annette Lake, Medicine Lake & Maligne Lake. Bow Lake, Peyto Lake, Athabasca Glacier, Herbert Lake, Mistaya Canyon, Johnston Canyon, Two Jack Lake, Lake Minnewanka, The Bow Valley Parkway, Policeman's Creek, Wedge Pond, Mount Kidd, Emerald Lake, The Natural Bridge, Castle Mountain and Morants Curve.
We will be based in a comfortable hotel in Banff and are lucky enough to have secured rooms at the fabulous Glacier View Lodge, which is based on the Icefields Parkway enabling views over the vast glaciers and mountains.
This will be a tour to remember!
Andy will be joined by guest leader Viktoria Haack. Andy and Viktoria both grew up in Dorset and have been looking forward to teaming up to lead a workshop together since getting to know each other and watching each others careers progress from opposite sides of the globe. Viktoria, a resident of BC, Canada since 2007, is heavily influenced by the beautiful environment that surrounds her. She has a background in fine art and anthropology. This combined with her love for the natural world, brings a unique perspective to her photography. Her ethos is to tread lightly; observe and document the subtle visual story within whichever photographic genre she is working. Viktoria is proud to be a Nikon Canada Ambassador, and Global Ambassador for Lowepro Bags. She has been published by numerous media outlets around the globe, both online and in print and is a regular contributor to Photo News Magazine.
Andy is a professional photographer with over 20 years’ experience behind the camera and has a great following. He has regularly had his images used in publications and on magazine covers. Based in Swanage, Andy is inspired by the dramatic landscapes of the Isle of Purbeck where he grew up, the constantly changing seasons, skies and love of the outdoors.
For tours outside of the UK, we will select a recommended flight which will depart from a London airport to the destination. In most cases (unless stated otherwise), the tour leaders will greet you at the destination airport from this flight and return you to the airport at the end of the tour.
Please DO NOT book your flights until advised to do so by the office. Tours have to become viable before we select the recommended flight.
Once a tour has enough bookings to make it viable, you will receive an email to alert you that the recommended flights have been uploaded to your client area on the website.
You are welcome to make alternative travel arrangements. If doing so, please ensure you are at the destination airport for the arrival time of the recommended flight to ensure you can take the transfer to the hotel. Alternatively you can arrange your own transfers and meet the group at the hotel on the first night.
