Our Norway photography tour including Tromso, Senja and the Lofoten Islands will take place in January 2022 with Andy Farrer. Our ever-popular Norway tours are a must for photographers excited to experience the Arctic and the landscapes on offer. Andy has put together a new itinerary for this tour which includes a few days on Senja, before heading onwards to the Lofoten Islands.

Our tour will begin with two nights on Sommaroy, near Tromso to photograph some of the beautiful scenery Troms County has to offer. Some of the beaches have a distinct Outer Hebridean feel to them with the remarkable blue-green water. With luck the skies will also be green after dark as we keep our fingers crossed for some astro-shoots of the Northern Lights.

Norway Photography Tour - Tromso, Senja & Lofoten Islands

A 10 Day - 9 Nights residential tour photographing islands near Tromso before moving on to Senja and then on to Lofoten.

The following three nights will be spent exploring the more mountainous and glacial landscapes of Senja, a chain of islands between Tromso and Lofoten. The drive from Tromso to Senja is a very scenic route and the woodland roads are often very photogenic. Andy will take you to his favourite spots on Senja for both day time and night time aurora shoots if the skies are clear at night. The winter beaches and towering mountains are unforgettable and a limitless source of inspiration for the photographer, whichever direction you point your camera.

The Lofoten Islands will be our next base for three nights where we will photograph many of the iconic viewpoints and enjoy the splendour of the fjords and mountains.

Whether day or night, the backdrops are some of the most dramatic to be found.

We have a final day shooting some of the other locations close to Tromso for our final day before our evening flight home. The wild, striking landscapes of the entire route are simply jaw-dropping and certain to leave you with a lasting memory of this remarkable part of the World.

"It's sometimes good to test yourself". At least that's what I told my friends on Facebook. Sitting on an ice-covered rock shelf overlooking a snow-covered beach trying to photograph the Aurora, while being ice-blasted by gale-force gusts of wind was certainly a test of endurance which I'd never experienced before (in fact I only managed to endure it for 15 minutes before heading back to the shelter of the van!). It's amazing what you can do, though, when you're with a group of like-minded peop

I really enjoyed this trip. Being based in Sommeroy and then Leknes gave us a chance to see a lot of the spectacular scenery that the Lofoten Islands have to offer. Andy took us to some interesting locations as well as the classic places like Hamnoy and Reine, several mornings driving us to a pre-breakfast, sunrise shot. The hotels were of a high standard with an extensive choice for breakfast. I picked up some useful processing tips from Andy which have worked well on some of my images.

Disappointed with this trip. Not enough photography tuition. The Trip is advertised for all levels including beginner. This trip is NOT aimed at beginners . I would have been better booking on a non photography tour with another company and paying a lot less, for the amount of tuition given. I am an experienced traveller with small groups so I can compare.

My only reservation is that I would have preferred to travel back during the day as part of the trip rather than arriving back late at night.

For tours outside of the UK, we will select a recommended flight which will depart from a London airport to the destination. In most cases (unless stated otherwise), the tour leaders will greet you at the destination airport from this flight and return you to the airport at the end of the tour.

Please DO NOT book your flights until advised to do so by the office. Tours have to become viable before we select the recommended flight.

Once a tour has enough bookings to make it viable, you will receive an email to alert you that the recommended flights have been uploaded to your client area on the website.

You are welcome to make alternative travel arrangements. If doing so, please ensure you are at the destination airport for the arrival time of the recommended flight to ensure you can take the transfer to the hotel. Alternatively you can arrange your own transfers and meet the group at the hotel on the first night.
