Peter Fenech

Born in Northeast England, Peter Fenech spent much of his childhood exploring the gorgeous County Durham countryside, Northumberland coastline, and Scottish glens. With these inspiring landscapes on his doorstep, it was inevitable that photography would become his passion.

Peter’s love of painting and film led him to specialise in landscape, cityscape, and architectural photography; his images often display a painterly or cinematic style. Meanwhile, his academic background in biological sciences encouraged his interest in macro imagery.

A keen writer, Peter has contributed to the photographic press since he was a teenager, crafting shooting and editing tutorials, projects, and interviews with other creatives. He founded and edited photo magazine Shutterlogic before taking over as Editor of Digital Photographer Magazine. Leading the editorial team, Peter enjoyed crafting detailed features on all aspects of photography to help readers of all skill levels and interests get the most from their cameras. He has also written and edited books for the same company, covering topics ranging from post-processing to action photography. Another highlight for him was being a contributing judge to Photocrowd, one of the world’s largest photography competition hosts. Peter has also been lucky enough to review and use almost every new camera and lens released over the past decade. This unique perspective allows him to help devotees of any camera brand, from Canon to Leica, enjoy their kit.

More than anything, Peter enjoys exploring interesting places with passionate photographers, advising them how best to tell their story through imagery.
