Light & Land
Carla's interest in photography came alive in 2010 during a move to Cornwall, to pursue a new business venture with her partner, opening a new Café/Restaurant called Seadrift on the south coast of Cornwall in Porthleven. It was from here that she fell in love with the amazing landscapes, seascapes and wildlife in the area, it was from there her passion grew. Taking every chance she was given, to be out in the outdoors, or travelling, her camera would go with her. Each image holds a vision, a meaning, a story, to captivate and be inspired by dramatic scenery, beautiful locations and the unknown. Everyday awaits a new image, a new light, Endless ever-changing possibilities. Travelling to locations around the world, the challenge of new and familiar locations and enjoying the outdoors, inspires beautiful imagery. Carla has had work published in magazines, newspapers, online as well as features on television and radio, and in 2015 Carla was delighted that her image of Porthleven being battered by the ferocious storms had won the weather category in the British Life Photography Awards. In 2014 Carla joined the Light and Land team as one of our leaders, she says ‘this has been an exciting and adventurous opportunity which I love every minute of!’This year she has opened a gallery in Porthleven where she showcases her work and meets new people, and often clients. When she is not away travelling, leading tours or helping to run the restaurant you can often find Carla out with her camera around Cornwall.
