Light & Land

Mehmet Ozbalci
Mehmet is a highly experienced tutor and travel photographer who has been leading cultural expeditions since 1982 and dedicated photography tours since 1991. With over four decades of field experience, he has developed an outstanding reputation for his in-depth knowledge, logistical expertise, and quiet dedication to helping photographers get the best out of every location.
His work has been published in a range of respected travel and in-flight magazines, reflecting both his photographic skill and his deep understanding of the regions he explores. Mehmet has photographed nearly every significant site — as well as countless lesser-known corners — in the countries he guides in, capturing these places in a wide variety of light, weather, and seasonal conditions. This familiarity allows him to confidently position his groups for the best possible photographic opportunities, whether it's a fleeting moment of golden light or a culturally significant scene unfolding before the lens.
On tour, Mehmet is known for his calm, thoughtful approach and his ability to anticipate both the needs of the group and the rhythm of the place. He ensures that photographers are in the right place at the right time — not just technically, but with an understanding of local customs, timing, and visual storytelling.
He is generous in sharing his knowledge in the field, offering practical guidance on composition and camera settings, while also encouraging each participant to develop their own visual voice. His post-processing skills, particularly in Photoshop, are another asset he willingly shares with clients, helping them refine their images without losing their authenticity or narrative power.
