Carcassonne is a wonderful place, a hilltop town in France’s Languedoc region renowned for its ancient Cité. This medieval citadel, with its double-walled fortifications, fairy tale towers, narrow streets, and cobbled courtyards, seems straight out of a children’s storybook.
Separated by the River Aude, linked by two bridges that offer an ideal setting, Carcassonne is great for street, architecture, and landscape photography.
