Our Dublin Photography Tour will take place in June 2027 and will be led by Peter Fenech.
Historic Dublin feels like a slice of European charm nestled on the doorstep of the UK. Its wide main streets, along which trams pass through the city, are distinctly continental, while the quaint, cobbled lanes could easily be mistaken for those of Paris or Berlin.
And yet the Irish capital has an atmosphere and identity all of its own. Just as the famously friendly people are welcoming to travellers, the architecture and street life provide photographers with a near-endless range of reasons to visit. Industrial textures give way to wide boulevards, ornate bridges over the River Liffey, and vibrant colours, all of which will provide the backbone of our photographic adventure.
We’ll explore the famous Temple Bar district to capture the neon lights of the iconic Irish pubs glowing on the cobbled streets, providing the perfect opportunity to play with unusual camera angles and to shoot scenes of people and street life in unexpected ways.
We’ll learn to juxtapose the traditional building styles of the Dublin townhouses with the grittier back streets and their colourful graffiti – the ideal canvas for multiple exposure photography. We’ll then traverse the banks of the Liffey to capture the reflections of the city lights in the water. From here, we’ll dive deep into the history of the city through its striking interiors around Trinity College, one of the oldest Universities in the world, having been opened by Queen Elizabeth I herself.
Our Dublin tour promises to be as fun, relaxed, and approachable as the Irish people themselves. While a popular spot for city travellers, it remains an underexplored gem amongst the photographic community. We’ll sample not only the photographic treats that can be found on every street corner, but also the cultural delights that the city has to offer.
