Our Glamorgan Heritage Coast and Gower Peninsula photography tour will be led by Verity Milligan and will take place in September 2026.
South Wales is often recognised for the obvious beauty of the Brecon Beacons, but it also has a rugged and expansive coastline that is an absolute treat for any photographer with an interest in capturing seascapes. From the extraordinary geology of Nash Point to the unmistakable landmark of Three Cliffs Bay, there is a wildness to this part of the country that reveals itself in changeable weather and swirling seas. Compositions can be found as the tides recede, as well as among the dunes and weathered cliffs. Not only will we explore the grandeur of the scenery, but we will also take time to engage with the wider ecosystem that such a landscape supports.

Glamorgan Heritage Coast and Gower Peninsula Landscape Photography
We’ll spend time at Three Cliffs Bay, with its distinctive namesake cliff face looming over the coastline. Whether you’re drawn to the rugged rock face or the sea itself, there is plenty here for the aspiring coastal photographer. Above the beach sits the ruin of Pennard Castle, which offers interesting compositions and a different subject matter if the beach becomes too familiar.
Further along the coast into the South Gower, we’ll visit Rhossili Bay with sweeping views over the Gower Peninsula. Here you’ll find golden beaches, intriguing shipwrecks, and ponies roaming the cliffs - making for magical photographic opportunities.
We’ll stay in The Mumbles, which has its own delights, from the lighthouse to the pier. It’s a great base for many of our locations and offers photographic opportunities right outside the door.
Also on our agenda is Nash Point, with its epic rock formations that make for striking compositions in any weather. This rugged coast has claimed many shipwrecks over the centuries, and the Nash Point lighthouse stands stalwart atop the cliffs.
This coastline has so much to offer, and this photographic tour aims to introduce - or reacquaint - you with the beauty and drama that this part of Wales provides.
